"Mom, just give me and Hazel some blankets and pillows and we'll go downstairs, but into the storage closet instead," Jake said.
"Okay, but on one condition. Since those walls are soundproof, I'll give you two a walkie talkie, and I'll keep the other one on my room so that way we can keep in touch,"
"Sounds reasonable," Jake said nonchalantly.
His mom left the room and was back before Jake and I could start talking again.
"Thanks, Mom," Jake said. His mom scurried out of his room and disappeared down the hallway. Jake carried all the supplies in his arms and said, "Here, I need you to reach into my right pocket and grab the key to my coffin room."
Very excited at the thought of getting to touch his sweetly smelled black jeans, I reached into his pocket and felt around for the key. I found it and pulled it out.
"Now unlock the door," he ordered me tightening his grip on the supplies.
As soon as I unlocked the door and opened it, the walkie talkie said, "Jake are you in the storage closet yet?"
I held down the button and Jake said," Yeah Mom."
We walked down the stairs and when we got there, I noticed we had no food. "How are we supposed to eat?" I asked.
"Mini fridge," Jake said jerking his chin over to the corner where a tiny black refrigerator sat. "Battery powered," he added, about the mini fridge I guessed. He tossed the blankets and pillows into the coffin and shut the lid. Just as he did that, my phone rang. "Cool ring," Jake said about my ringtone because I wasn't wearing a ring.
I opened my phone and it said I have a text message.
